Daniel Bennett

Daniel is the author of A Passion for the Fatherless, a book he authored while serving as a Family Pastor. The book was the fruit of his efforts to help his church develop a biblically grounded, God-centered ministry to orphans. He received his Master of Divinity from Moody Bible Institute and a Doctorate of Ministry in Expository Preaching from Southern Seminary. Daniel is now the Senior Pastor of Bethany Community Church, a church plant from Bethany Baptist in the neighboring city of Washington, Illinois.  He and his wife, Whitney, have four children, Hannah, Austin, Noah, and Ellie. In addition to pastoral work, Daniel enjoys spending time with his family, date nights with his wife, reading, swimming, and running.

Jerry Sanderson

Jerry is a Pastoral Associate at Bethany Baptist Church in Peoria, IL.  He was part of the creation of the Open Hearts Open Homes orphan care ministry and is part of the steering group for that ministry.  Jerry and his wife Karen have three children, one of which they fostered and then adopted.

 Shelly Roberts

Shelly and her husband David began their adoption journey while serving in rural America as church planting missionaries.  It was during that time God gave them a heart for the fatherless and helped them climb through all the many obstacles ahead.  Their sons were very instrumental in working hard to raise funds as they waded through each financial challenge.  The sacrifices made meant nothing compared to the realization of two little girls, on different continents, who needed a family.  Shelly is not only a voice for the fatherless and advocate for adoptive families, but her deep passion lies in encouraging the hearts of adoptive moms.  She is well acquainted with their needs.  She is known for meeting families right where they are at and helping them walk toward HOPE.  Shelly doesn’t just want to see children placed in forever families -- she wants to see those families thrive.  Now living in central Illinois, Shelly enjoys serving with the ABBA Fund, a ministry to Christian adoptive families.  She speaks not only at adoption conferences, but also at various other women’s events across the US covering a broad range of topics.

Marianne Gross

Marianne is wife to David and mom to 6 beautiful children from 3 different countries; some bio, foster, and adopted.  She and her husband have served the church through youth ministry for 16 years and orphan ministry for 8.  Marianne is team leader for the Grace Church Orphan Care Ministry and the founder/director of the Connecting Hearts with the Forgotten conference.  She is passionate about connecting the church to the ministry God lays out in His Word: caring for the least of these.

Amy Park

Amy has been married to her best friend, Ken, for 25 years.  Together they are the parents to seven children, four through the gift of adoption.  Amy has been a part of the Open Hearts, Open Homes orphan care ministry from its inception.  Her heart is to walk alongside families as they progress through the many years following adoption, all to the glory of God.
